The German Design Award is one of the most important international design competitions and honors visionary projects that impress with their aesthetics, functionality and innovative strength. Those who are honored here prove that design is far more than a decorative element - design brings brand values to life.
This year, we were able to convince the renowned jury in two categories: our flagship store on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm received an award in the “Excellent Architecture - Retail Architecture” category. And our headquarters office in Berlin was awarded a prize in the “Excellent Architecture - Interior Architecture” category. These awards show that our consistent focus on design, sustainability and functionality not only inspires customers, but also sets standards at an international level.
The Berlin flagship store: minimalism for the senses
Our flagship store on Ku'damm embodies our vision that retail can also be transformative. The bright, open space creates a calming atmosphere that invites you to linger. Inspired by Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian simplicity, the store harmoniously blends clean lines, natural materials and thoughtful details.
At the center is our Tea Bar, which offers space for exploration - be it through a tea tasting or a conversation with our tea experts. The store shows how design can not only fulfill a function, but can also evoke emotions and bring a brand to life. Store employee Sibylle Wichmann-Schiller agrees:
"Life is pulsating on Kurfürstenstraße, but here in the store we invite our guests to step away from the hustle and bustle. It's simple: grab a cup of tea and leave the stress outside. With the tea bar and the cosy bench by the window, our store has become a real meeting place - a space that is warm and welcoming."

Our headquarters: An office that opens minds
Our headquarters in Berlin were also awarded. The idea behind the office design, which was developed together with architects Schwitzke & Górski, is to allow flexible and collaborative working to become tangible. The space itself is aesthetically aligned with our product world, which inspires to dream and think new ideas. Lots of wood, elegant shōji walls and modern exposed concrete balance feelings of tranquillity and momentum. This is how design promotes creativity and collaboration.
The heart of our office is our Teahouse - a space that serves as an oasis, is used for workshops and events and, of course, for tea ceremonies. It's the favorite place in the office for Jana Schwerdtfeger, our Senior Copywriter:
“My favorite place is the tea house. When you close the doors, the sounds become a pleasant background noise. The paper walls diffuse the incoming light. Whilst you still feel as if you're in the office, at the same time you are somehow removed from it all - a very pleasant atmosphere for developing creative ideas.”
By the way, our HQ office is finally complete! Since the end of last year, we have taken over the entire second floor of the new AchtBerlin office complex. By systematically refining our design we are now able to support collaboration, creativity and well-being even better. Claudia Link, our PR Manager, is delighted with the furnishings in the headquarters. The ergonomic height-adjustable tables, the small sofas for short meetings, but especially the soundproof call boxes. She jokes: “With my loud voice and laughter, I definitely need this to protect my colleagues.”

The foundation is design
These two awards from the German Design Awards confirm our conviction that design is more than just decoration. Strong design lays the foundation for sustainable success. The German Design Award 2025 underlines the fact that our concepts are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also impress with their functionality, sustainability and emotional appeal. With every room we design, we create more than just an environment - we create memorable experiences.
