How the tea tastes

Oriental Beauty

Oolong tea ORIENTAL BEAUTY enchants with its fruity notes and natural, honey-like sweetness. As a highly oxidized oolong, it boasts a stronger, malty taste, similar to black tea, in contrast to lightly oxidized oolong teas.

How to create
the perfect cup of tea

The preparation

Give the precious tea leaves plenty of space to expand fully. Use a large tea strainer or brew the leaves in a teapot, then strain them into a serving pot. We recommend multiple infusions for your Oolong to let it reveal its complex flavors layer by layer.

The processing

Just before the summer harvest, small leafhoppers nibble on the tea plants. What initially seems like an unwelcome interaction is crucial to ORIENTAL BEAUTY's unique flavor. The insect bites trigger the plant's impressive defensive reaction, turning the tips white and imparting an incomparable, honey-like sweetness and complex aroma. After harvesting, the leaves are withered, pan-fired, and rolled into oolongs following the traditional process.

Nantou, Taiwan

The origin of the tea

Oolong tea ORIENTAL BEAUTY is a popular variety from Taiwan, primarily cultivated in the Hsinchu and Pinglin regions. The tea plants thrive in hilly terrain at an altitude of around 500 meters, benefiting from a subtropical climate with abundant rainfall and mineral-rich soil.
